Advocacy & Campaigns
Where activism meets community. Where voice becomes action.
At ICWIN, advocacy is not an occasional act. It is who we are.
From street performances and hunger strikes to coalition-building and city policy, our campaigns turn solidarity into action.
Diaspora Rising for Woman, Life, Freedom
ICWIN has been deeply engaged in the global movement sparked by Zan, Zendegi, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom).
We organized:
- Street performances and visual protest actions in solidarity with Iranian women.
- A 3-day hunger strike highlighting the brutal crackdown in Kurdistan.
- Art exhibitions featuring anonymous artists who amplified the revolution through visual storytelling.
- Feminist chants and embodied resistance performances in public spaces in collaboration with Feminists for Jina.
Cross-Border Feminist Alliances in Action
As part of the Joint Action of Iranian Women’s Organizations, ICWIN has:
- Co-hosted a global feminist conference on the anniversary of Woman, Life, Freedom.
- Participated in building lasting coalitions among diaspora-based feminist groups.
- Advocated for intersectional solidarity beyond borders from Chile to Afghanistan.
Ending Gender-Based Violence, One Voice at a Time
- We translated and distributed the City of Los Angeles Domestic Violence Awareness Handbook in Persian.
- We will be launching the Red Shoes campaign, a global protest against femicide, adapted to the Iranian context.
- We've organized community teach-ins, visual campaigns, and engaged with local shelters to bridge cultural gaps in domestic violence response.
Turning Global Women’s Rights Into Local Policy, CEDAW
- ICWIN is part of the Cities for CEDAW movement, pushing local governments to implement the global Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
- We work with municipalities to pass resolutions, raise public awareness, and strengthen local gender equity commitments.
Educating, Translating, Mobilizing
- Created bilingual advocacy materials for public spaces and community events.
- Engaged in civic education around women’s rights, UN mechanisms, and feminist resistance.
- Used art, video, and social media to translate complex policies into public conversations.
Your Voice Matters. Join the Movement.
Be part of a feminist network taking action across borders.
